WG2
Description of the WG2
The WG2 focuses on the fusion of data produced by novel terrestrial-based technologies data with other remote sensing data. The aim is to establish the link between terrestrial data in the frame of large-scale applications at regional, national, or even global levels.
The focus will be divided into three categories: unmanned aircraft systems, airborne and spaceborne platforms. The focus will be on those three subgroups and the fusion processes and benefits of each. The emphasis will also be laid on pre-processing of data from unmanned aircraft systems, airborne and spaceborne platforms. The pre-processing stage has to follow the goal of the fusion and then a particular approach must be taken into account.
Tasks
WG2-T1: Identifying and gathering pre-processing workflows for unmanned aircraft systems, airborne and spaceborne data with emphasis on possible fusion with terrestrial-based data and with each other.
WG2-T2: Recognizing the pros and cons of the fusion of novel terrestrial-based 3D data with unmanned aircraft systems, airborne and spaceborne data.
WG2-T3: Identifying and developing guidelines and protocols to accurately fuse terrestrial-based three-dimensional data with other remote sensing methods – unmanned aircraft systems, airborne and spaceborne.
WG2-T4: Developing and testing calibration protocols for remote sensing data by terrestrial-based point clouds with a focus on spaceborne.
WG2-T5: Creating an open-data database of remote sensing fusion ready data.
Milestone
WG2-M1: Joint workshop with WG1 and WG3 on data collection, fusion and data processing of three-dimensional terrestrial-based technologie
