Call for Local Organiser | Interdisciplinary Summer School 2025

We are opening a call for a local organizer of the Interdisciplinary Summer School 2025. It is already the third year in a row that we plan to do a summer school where multiple COST Actions will get together and train a new generation of scientists on how to map, monitor and model forest ecosystem structure and ecosystem processes.

Next year four forest-related COST Actions will get together: 3DForEcoTech, ARiF, CLEANFOREST and PANGEOS. Topics will include ground-based lidar, remote sensing, augmented reality, tree ecophysiology, climate extremes and more – all with a focus on forest monitoring.

As a local organizer, you will have a great opportunity to meet many incredible scientists from various fields of research. You will also get grant support to fund various aspects of the event. More information on local organiser support is here.

The summer school is planned from the 4th to the 8th of August 2025. The number of students and lecturers will not exceed 60. We are looking for a place that would potentially have an available research site with various measured parameters.

If you would like to organize the summer school and be the local organizer, please fill out the form: https://forms.gle/knbu9nK7HVKQCBza7

Local Organiser Support Grant Rules

The call is open till the local organiser is found. The first review is planned for the beginning of January.

Address any questions to Martin Mokros at m.mokros@ucl.ac.uk.
