Gaia Vaglio Laurin

Organisation: Tuscia University/CNR-IRET
Department: DIBAF
Country: Italy
City: Rome
Expertise of the potential host: Forest remote sensing
Description of possible topics: integration of terrestrial, drone, airborne and satellite data: issues in scaling up variables of interest in forest ecology, and identification of biodiversity proxies
Extra info: We are a collaborative research group, from University to National Research Centre, investigating different issues in forest ecology, from urban allometry to proxy of biodiversity using acoustic sensors. We integrate different sensors to answer specific research questions, and carry out a number of international project. Specifically, we operate terrestrial mobile lidar, drone data acquisition, and use a number of multispectral and hyperspectral datasets. Areas of interest are usually forests in protected areas
