Description of possible topics: We are currently working on various topics on the interface between proximate sensing and ecology for example to achieve a better understand of understory elements in forests and the corresponding links to wildfires. But we also work on forest-inventory related questions, particularly also by making use of synthetic laserscanning data.
Extra info: We are a quite young, friendly and international team and follow a collaborative approach in our work-group with very flat hierarchies and a lot freedom with respect to working conditions.

3DForEcoTech project aims to establish a strong network of scientists and stakeholders and sensor manufacturers to synchronise the knowledge, to develop general protocols and algorithms for forest ecosystem state survey and forest functioning, and to make these novel technologies available to a broad audience.
